March 18, 2010 – Campaign Update

Dear Friend,

I was honored to receive over 44% of the delegate vote at the statewide Democratic Pre-Primary Convention. Of the four candidates for Land Commissioner, I am the only Democratic candidate to be officially placed on the ballot for the June 1st Primary.

Ray Powell speaks at the 2010 N.M. Democratic Party's Pre-Primary Convention. Powell received near 45 percent of the delegate vote, security a place on the June 1, 2010, primary ballot for State Land Commissioner.

The March 13th Democratic convention brought New Mexicans together from across our state and I salute the efforts and hard work of all of the candidates and delegates. It was a truly a celebration of the system of democracy we all cherish so deeply.

My campaign is moving forward and we’re stronger than ever—and we must be if we’re going to succeed in November. While I appreciate being called a “heavy favorite for the primary and general election” — I can’t do it without your help.

Republicans are bragging about big gains to expect in elections this November. From the recent Republican Convention, a top Land Commission nominee has emerged. Make no mistake about it — he will be tough and well funded. But I’m prepared to fight hard and win.

Contribute $25, $50 or $100 and help me return to the State Land Office where I will provide ethical, honest leadership.

It is time to come together to help support job growth, to support our educational systems, to protect and manage our public lands.

I ask for your help and that you stand with me for an honest and more prosperous New Mexico.

Contribute $25, $50 or $100 to my campaign so we can return honesty, accountability, and vision back to the Land Office.

All contributions are important to our success.

With much thanks,

Ray Powell
